Fiscal Responsibilities for Board Members
This presentation will cover the fiscal responsibilities of board members and include case studies of when board members failed to exercise their fiduciary responsibilities, red flags, and best practices. After our presentation, a board member should have a strong understanding of what exactly their duties and responsibilities are when it comes to fiscal oversight of an organization.
Janet Holland
Janet Holland, CPA, Partner, Squar Milner
Janet is a partner in Squar Milner's Audit Department. Her client base consists primarily of clients requiring audited or reviewed financial statements, including privately held companies and nonprofit organizations, with an emphasis on residential real estate (including affordable housing projects), nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, religious organizations, and community service organizations.
Janet began her career with Bank of America where she held positions in the International Accounting Department. She subsequently joined Wilson, McCall & Daoro and became a founding partner of Daoro, Zydel & Holland, one of the predecessor firms to DZH Phillips. In 2018, DZH Phillips merged into Squar Milner.
Kevin O'Connell
Kevin specializes in assurance and compliance services, providing our clients with in-depth knowledge of technical U.S. GAAP accounting and compliance under the Uniform Guidance. He works with a broad range of industries, particularly not-for-profit, consumer goods, and technology. In addition, Kevin has experience assisting our clients in the professional services, life science, gaming, private schools, and real estate industries.
